New Gas Boiler Installations
Discover the advantages of investing in a new gas boiler!
Investing in a new gas boiler or upgraded central heating system ensures you have a reliable source of warmth and hot water for years to come.
Giving you and your family peace of mind during the cold winter months. More importantly, it can significantly reduce your annual heating expenses.
So, how can you enhance your central heating system?
If your gas boiler is over 15 years old, it’s likely operating at reduced efficiency, leading to higher heating costs. On average, switching to a modern A-rated energy-efficient boiler can save you around £200 – £580 each year, potentially even more, depending on the specific model you choose.
Additionally, upgrading your heating controls, including thermostatic radiator valves and room thermostats, allows you to enjoy heat and hot water precisely when and where you need them.
This not only helps reduce your carbon footprint but also leads to substantial savings in your energy bills. Make the smart choice for your home and the environment today!

Which boiler is best for your home?
When choosing a boiler for your home, consider these key factors to meet your needs:
- the size of your home
- how much hot water you use
- and your budget
By looking at these points, you can make a smart choice that works for you.

Combi Boilers
A ‘combi’ or combination boiler is a high efficiency water heater and central heating boiler combined into a compact unit. The combi boiler heats the water that comes directly from your water main when you turn on the tap.
This type of boiler is good for saving space within your home as you will no longer need a hot water cylinder or water tanks in the loft.
Regular Boilers
Regular boilers also known as conventional or heat only boilers are perfect for homes with an existing heating and hot water system and a hot water cylinder.
The regular boiler requires a cold water storage tank in the loft that feeds the cylinder, along with a tank that maintains the water level of the central heating system.
A regular boiler is ideal for families using a lot of hot water at the same time. And where homes have more than two bathrooms.
They are a good choice of boiler in areas where the water pressure is low.
Regular boilers are compatible with solar water heating systems. Lowering your carbon footprint and reducing energy bills.
System Boilers
System boilers are economical and ideal for homes with more than one bathroom. They have a built-in pressure vessel and pump, eliminating the need for a water tank in the loft. This feature makes them an excellent option for freeing up loft space for living.
System Boilers Need A Hot Water Cylinder
A water cylinder is necessary with a system boiler to store hot water. This makes them an ideal choice for larger families that use hot water for showers and baths simultaneously, as a constant supply of hot water can be provided when needed.
System boilers are compatible with solar water heating systems, saving you money on energy bills and lowering your carbon footprint.

A step-by-step guide for a boiler installation:
1. Removing the Old Boiler:
We will remove the old boiler, ensuring that this process is done safely and follows the manufacturer’s guidelines.
2. Power Flushing the Central Heating System:
A power flush of the central heating system is essential when installing a new boiler. This helps remove any debris and sludge that could affect the performance of the new gas boiler. Note that failing to power flush the system may void the warranty on the new boiler.
3. Fitting the New Boiler:
When installing the new boiler, we may need to run new pipework, especially if it’s being installed in a new location within your home. The time required for this process will depend on the complexity of the installation.
4. Choosing a Location:
You can request to have your gas boiler installed in a different location. However, keep in mind that this may result in additional costs and more installation time. The gas engineer will provide advice on the available options for boiler and flue installation.
5. System Filters:
We recommend installing system filters to keep your boiler free from debris and sludge that can accumulate in the central heating system over time.

6. System Cleaners and Inhibitors:
We do use system cleaners and inhibitors to maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of your boiler.
7. Commissioning and Testing:
Once the installation is complete, the gas engineer will commission and test the central heating system to ensure that both the boiler and the heating system are working correctly. They will also explain the operation and controls of the new boiler.
8. Registering the Boiler:
After installation, we will register your boiler with Gas Safe to ensure that it complies with building regulations. This registration is necessary for the warranty to remain valid.
9. Maintaining Your Warranty:
To keep your boiler warranty valid, it’s crucial to have your boiler serviced annually. A boiler service checks on the boiler’s installation, performance, and safety. We offer an annual boiler reminder service, and scheduling a service during the summer months is advisable to help avoid breakdowns in the winter.
What Is Boiler Plus?
Boiler Plus is a new legislation introduced by the government on 6th April 2018. And its aim is to improve energy efficiency within homes in the UK on all new combi boilers installed into existing heating systems.
All new gas combi boilers that are replaced after 6th April 2018 need to have a minimum efficiency of 92% ErP.

There Are Four Parts To Boiler Plus.
Homeowners and installers need to include one of the following options below to meet the new boiler plus requirements.
Load Compensation Control
Load Compensation Control is a feature within the central heating controls that automatically adjusts the water temperature going to your radiators.
Weather Compensation Control
Weather Compensation Control is an outdoor temperature sensor that communicates current weather conditions to the boiler. This information allows the boiler to adjust the radiator temperature within your home, reducing heat loss.
Smart Thermostats
Smart Thermostats allow you to control the temperature of your home remotely via a smart phone, tablet or desktop.
Its automation function controls the heating system output in response to a programmed time or through occupancy detection. The smart thermostats optimisation feature calculates how long the heating system takes to heat to the required temperature. Minimising the amount of work it has to do.
Passive Flue Gas Heat Recovery Devices
Passive Flue Gas Heat Recovery Devices enable the boiler to reuse hot flue gases that would otherwise escape to the atmosphere. Reusing heat loss helps to lower fuel bills and also reduces carbon dioxide emissions by around half a tonne a year.
